Hull, Yorkshire

This family line starts out from a Thomas Townsley that was born in Wisbech - but since there are no other connections to Wisbech it seems likely that Thomas was born to a boating family; possibly from Castleford. His marriage entries state his father was also Thomas Townsley and that he was resident in Castleford.

This is the best guess based on the information collected so far .... however there is at least one problem with the actual records. Both the national marriage index and the Yorkshire marriage index have Enid Townsley (b. 1901) marrying in 1930 - but to two different people (with three different surnames).
